Shark Reef Aquarium is a public aquarium located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is located in and owned by Mandalay Bay Resort. The draw was opened on June 20, 2000. It has a main tank of 1,300,000 US gallons ( 4,900,000 L), one of the largest in North America. The facility is 105,000 square feet (9,800 m2) and is home to several species of sharks, rays, fish, reptiles and marine invertebrates. It also has a shark tunnel. The Riff was developed in collaboration with the Vancouver Aquarium. Shark Reef was developed with the help of the Vancouver Aquarium. It cost $ 40 million to build and opened on June 20, 2000. Shark Reef had its millionth visitor in May 2001 and has grossed $10 million to date. It was accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums in 2003. In 2017, Shark Reef had 80 employees, 35 of whom were aquarists. The sites are visited by an average of 900,000 visitors each year.

In 2020, Shark Reef announced plans to build a 36-seat virtual reality theater to show underwater short films. It opened later that year. Shark Reef was developed with the help of the Vancouver Aquarium. It was built at a cost of $ 0 million and opened on June 20, 2000.
